Micro-credit financial information system
developed for two major NGOs in Pakistan: National Rural
Support Programme (NRSP), and Sarhad Rural Support Corporation
(SRSC). These RSPs are running enterprise development and
poverty alleviation programmes by extending micro-credit
to rural and socially deprived communities.
The MIS software calculates repayment schedules, records
repayments, maintains individual loan ledgers, assesses
portfolio at risk, and offers a rich set of management,
board, and donor reports. It is developed in MS Access 97
and currently installed and maintained at more than 100
sites all over the country. The system tracks more than
250,000 loan cases with over Rs.31 billion portfolio. Data
transmission from field to head-office level takes place
through exchange of diskettes, CDs, and Zipdisks every month.
